Mine, Actually

So, a quick update — not about radios, not about calculators, not even about printers this time. Just the blog itself.

It’s mine now. Properly mine. Not just something hosted on Blogger for free, but my domain — zl2dtl.xyz — hosted on one of my friend Findlay’s very brilliant servers. He’s the kind of person who actually understands all the backend nonsense like DNS and reverse proxies and whatever else makes the internet go. So yeah, cheers Findlay.

It’s running on Jekyll — yeah, I used a theme, and no, I don’t care. I made it mine. Bent the config files to my will. Tweaked the markdown. Broke it and fixed it again. It’s not original in the “coded from the ground up” sense, but it is original in the “somehow only I would put this together like this” sense. And I like that.

All the old posts have been backported, so if you’ve been reading for a while (hello, all five of you), everything’s still here — the reflections, the rants, the questionable analogies, the projects, the printers, the her. It’s technically the third iteration of this blog — maybe fourth, depending how you count the early ones that existed before anyone knew about it — but this one feels like the final form. The forever home.

No ads. No algorithms. No optimisation. Just thoughts. Mine.

Anyway, that’s the blog update. Back to regular programming (chaos and solder fumes) next time.

73,
Daniel
